BIOGRAPHY

Hiroyasu Tsuri (釣 博泰 Tsuri Hiroyasu, born 1985) is a multidisciplinary Japanese artist whose practice spans painting, sculpture, photography, video, sound, installations, and performance. Tsuri is  also known as TWOONE for his large-scale public murals showcased globally. His works are featured in prestigious institutions such as The National Gallery of Australia, the Straat Museum in Amsterdam, and the Museum of Urban and Contemporary Art (MUCA) in Munich.

Born in Yokohama, Japan, Tsuri relocated to Melbourne, Australia in 2003 after completing high school to begin his artistic apprenticeship. Immersing himself in the local graffiti and street art culture, he developed the ability to work with a wide variety of materials and techniques, coining the term ‘Raw Mark Making’ to distinguish his style.

In 2009, Tsuri furthered his arts education, completing a Diploma of Visual Arts & Multimedia at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne. Here, he delved into the structure of public art works and the history of socially engaged art, refining his artistic vision. Following the graduation Tsuri continued to evolve his distinctive style through experimentation in his studio and engagement in public art projects.

Represented by Backwoods Gallery since 2010, Tsuri has maintained a regular schedule of solo and group exhibitions across continents, captivating audiences with his eclectic artistic expression. In the same year, Australia granted Tsuri permanent residency through the 'Distinguished Talent Visa' in recognition of his artistic achievements.

In 2014, invited to international mural projects and exhibitions, Tsuri established Berlin as his European creative hub. Inspired by Berlin's urban and multicultural environment, he embarked on further explorations of new artistic expressions. "TOTAL TEMPORARY" was one such endeavor, collaborating with fellow artists on live painting, performance, sound, and video projects to expand artistic horizons across Europe.

In 2021, Tsuri relocated his European creative in Sant’Elia a Pianisi, Italy, continuing his pursuit of new artistic expressions in the studio while contributing to the local art scene through mural projects and collaborations with musicians. His artworks adorn not only public spaces but also at galleries and prestigious institutions worldwide.
